Timothy of Gaza

Timothy of Gaza
   Zoologist who, at the beginning of the sixth century, wrote four derivative works on exotic fauna. One of them, entitled Indian Animals, exhibits, as does the work of another sixth-century author, Kosmas Indikopleustes (q.v.), the Byzantine fascination with India (q.v.).
